Landscape Gardener / Horticulturalist
Working on our high-end residential properties, you will be carrying out garden maintenance and horticulture work, some days autonomously and others as part of a small team. You will have a passion for the outdoors, and be a self-starter with a tenacity for quality work and attention to detail.
This position will suit someone who is forward-thinking and proactive, and enjoys a level of freedom to their work. You will be responsible for following your schedule of works and the preparation of your days, and ensuring everything is in working order to achieve the tasks at hand.
You will predominantly start and finish your days at our yard in the Hills District; meeting the team and getting prepped for your day, then travelling in our company car to your scheduled jobs throughout Sydney.
What you’ll do:
Performing garden maintenance duties to a high standard, such as:
Plant and garden management
Lawn maintenance
Hand and chemical weed management
Pest and diseases management
Hedging works, including topiary and formative hedging
Management of irrigation systems
Garden and lawn fertilising
Ensuring all tasks are completed in an efficient manner and to a high standard
Providing ongoing project updates to assist with scheduling and workflow
Carrying our regular tool maintenance and material stocktake
Assisting in keeping our work sites, yard, vehicles, equipment and tools clean and organised
Who you’ll be:
Minimum 2+ years of residential gardening experience
Completed industry qualification in Horticulture
Motivated, hardworking and reliable
Excellent communication skills
High quality skills and attention to detail
Experience in the operation of gardening equipment, and working with chemicals
Experience liaising with clients / supervising small teams (desirable but not essential)
Hold a current drivers licence
